A long serving caretaker of a Hertford school who would "do anything to help the kids" has died. Ken Smith, of Hornsmill Road, who worked at The Sele School from 1964 until he retired in 1991, passed away recently at the age of 92. He was well known around Hertford having worked at the secondary school, which is on Welwyn Road, for almost three decades.
