A prolific burglar was jailed after being found guilty of a string of crimes - although he was cleared of slashing a school caretaker with a knife. Alex Maloney, 31, of no fixed abode, was jailed for six years, three months years when he appeared at Liverpool Crown Court. Ahead of his trial he pleaded guilty to carrying out burglaries at Lockwoods Construction, Bridle Way, Bootle ; Nugent Care, on Edge Lane, Kensington and Rimrose Hope School in Seaforth , all in June.
