hi all one of our tmvs in a classroom has stopped working so turn off the hot water so as not to burn anyone and went to order new one was asked by office why they need hot water in a class anyway, apart from the obvious is there any h&s reason to have hot water in a primary classroom as i think they should have it

HSE states that hot water must be provided in toilet facilities but makes no mention of it in classrooms bro.
Hope this helps.

here (primary) we have:
tmv's in pupil toilets,
hot water in medical room, staff toilets, kitchen, staffroom, cleaners
mains cold everywhere else
Don't let the school tell you what your entitled to. Check it out and tell them.

Hot water (or 42 degrees hot) is helpful in a few ways, it gets paint off hands where cold water won't, it softens glue and helps wash up brushes and other art tools.

Either that or they go in the toilets where there is hot water and make a complete mess there, and leave it to harden off. [Angry.png]

only have one class with a hot water tap. only because the building was changed around a little. it has a tmv on. the other classrooms that have sinks only have cold.

The school down the road had all the sinks, kettles, toasters and anything else that didn't belong in a general classroom removed!
Now the teachers can't sit in the classrooms, eating and drinking coffee all day!

If they decide not to replace the TMV to save money, remember that the pipes will need cutting back so as not to leave a dead leg - might be cheaper to just replace the TMV!
