Re: Official NHS Track and Trace App

It is jaw dropping seeing how much taxpayers money has been spent on the app, the statistics for how effective it is are pretty bad and they are now admitting interference from other Bluetooth signals is likely to create a lot of false positives. They are also estimating only 15% of people may download it and also how many in the most vulnerable age groups own a smartphone? I don't know many over 70's who do.

That might be due to the 6 O'clock news running the story and everybody trying to download it at once.

UPDATE: The BBC is reporting 1 million people have downloaded it (4 hours at the time of typing this) https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-54270334

Re: Official NHS Track and Trace App

I must have been lucky.
I downloaded yesterday morning, no delays or dramas.
My concern is whether it will drain my phone's battery.

I have just printed out the QR code and posted them in the entrance and staff room.

Guidance from. Gov states that qr codes are for public spaces with schools and fe settings are not expected to create qr codes for normal day to day operations, also if the phone sits in a locker for 6 hours its advised to pause the app as it could cause false positives guidance here https://www.gov.uk/government/publicati ... n-colleges

Expert on Radio 5 yesterday said that if you have an iphone it needs to be at the most 4 years old.

Re: Official NHS Track and Trace App

Downloaded it at 9pm last night, no dramas done in under a minute. Got to have it so I can track and trace at my sons football club.

Is the spec of the phone the limiting factor, or maybe you could update to the latest iOS?

Apparently, it is either showing medium or high for everyone. It would be interesting to see what it says on Buffer's phone.

The hardware limits the IOS updates. I suspect the app uses functions only available on later versions of IOS supported by newer hardware.
