Medical retirement early - part 2
After 28 years of the job (various schools) finally agreed early medical retirement (i'm 57) .
Expected a lot of drama & legal action , but the Counties Doctor was very good.
Unison have been excellent through out 6 months of wrangling.
Just have to wait for paperwork to be signed off -Cool.png-

Seldom hear of early retirement on medical grounds these days as LAs try to avoid the additional pensions costs. So, congratulations on getting it over the line. I hope you can enjoy all that retirement brings. Take care.

Re: Medical retirement early - part 2
I can not find your earlier post = Medical retirement early part 1, so I really don't know the history, but it seems you were determined to get out on the medical side of things and well done to you, I am pleased you mentioned Unison and the support they gave you, they also helped me when I lost my job and home and I am now settled in sunny Spain very comfortably, As one fellow caretaker mentioned it not often you hear of medical grounds early retirement because of the cost, but at my time in various schools there were plenty of Head teachers and senior staff being given retirement on medical grounds. I hope your paper work works out for you and hopefully soon you can enjoy your retirement and benefits that come with it, now start to take it steady and keep in touch, Enjoy my friend and good luck. -Cool.png-
