5 YEAR ELECTRICAL TEST AND FREEZERS

It suddenly dawned on me about the kitchen fridges and freezers being turned off during the 5 year test, how long are they off for usually and do I need to run extensions to a socket on another distribution board temporarily?

As long as you don't open them they will be fine for an hour or so but the power shouldn't be off for more than a couple of minutes, the engineer will force the fuses to trip to make sure they are working correctly then he will turn them back on, my 5yr fixed wiring was done in less than 1 day

Yeah they'll be fine don't worry. If you have a power cut they'll be OK usually for a few hours providing that they're not open.

You won't have any problems.

I agree with all bro. The bigest headache will be your server if it's anything like mine.

Re: 5 YEAR ELECTRICAL TEST AND FREEZERS

On our last annual test, the contractor forgot to switch the power back on and we lost a full freezer full of food.

We had our last 5 year test a couple of months ago. The bio-metric entry system had not reset after being powered down and I had to call out an engineer to get me into the building. (He has shown me how to remedy it myself in future but it was a pain. Fortunately, it fell in the holidays.)
