Steam Cleaner

Now we've had all the covid distance tapes removed from the carpets we've been left with an unsightly sticky strip which looks awful. I want to try removing these with a steam cleaner so am in need of recommendations for one which will do the job, hopefully.

I don't know which steamer to get, but I got my sticky marks up with Sel-Freez which freezes the sticky residue and then you can scrape it up quite easily and quickly.

steamer doesn't touch it. I have the Karcher DE4002 and it is great for steaming. I've left mine for now and one day I will find a solution as they are 2m apart and I have 6 corridors full!!

good morning i have used upvc cleaner on ours and a stiff brush come up no problem. hope that helps.

I would think a hot steam cleaner would just make the glue sticky again.

I was going to use it to loosen the glue then try scraping it off the carpet.

You could try chewing gum freeze remover Andrew as it makes the glue brittle and easier to scrap up, good luck i hope you succeed.
