New EU limits could see the combustion engine phased out from 2025
In order to comply with the goals of the Paris Climate Protection Agreement, the EU wants to tighten the CO2 limits as part of the upcoming Euro 7 emissions standard.
A study by the EU Commission is supposed to form the basis for the new exhaust emission limits. The VDA is already warning that the move would result in the combustion engine being phased out from 2025.

How about tackling the pollution caused by cruise ships first

What Great Britain does re petrol and diesel cars will not make any difference world wide, as countries will still produce them like India and other countries have millions of vehicles that will continue to be used for decades to come.

Presumably we will not be obliged to follow EU limits next year. I think we should on this one. But they cannot have enforcement powers I am guessing.

That was an interesting read. I always thought air travel was the worst, but apparently not.Nigel wrote: ↑Wed, 18th Nov 2020, 5:22pm How about tackling the pollution caused by cruise ships first![]()

Its a MASSIVE problem! A cruise company were fined £40,000,000 last year I think, for having a "magic pipe" which dumped untreated waste into the sea, an ex employee whistle blew, I think Venice have banned cruise ships because of a massive influx of tourist every time a ship docks.
Cruise ship dock in London which has a ULEZ which they charge you to enter!

Yes we should phase out petrol cars and go electric but that is only part of the solution!
