I have just paid up my yearly subscription and well worth it to, thank you, I love reading the post and have always found the information helpful and love the banter when two or more caretakers go head to head, yes I am one of those!! anyway I again feel part of the team now I have joined, as I have been away on holiday to Spain over the Easter break and don't like unsecure Wi-Fi internet use abroad so could not pay my membership to the wonderful web-site that I enjoy on a daily basis, So hi to everyone and keep posting, don't forget the banter=love it, back to work Monday=hey ho. What ad revenue? The only income there has been from day one has been the occasional one off sponsorship for a page, never any adverts on the forums. Everything else has been funded out of CT's own pocket.

More details on costs are here. [Like.png]

Oh yeah, and no one is forced to become a subscriber, but thanks to everyone who has and does in the future.

Our support companies paid a one off contribution/donation. There is no regular income from support companies. I keep the forums free from ads as well as the main site.

I am retired now on a small pension, so for the site to continue, the members suggested a subscription.
"The forum is back online" posted in "Forum Help and Guidance"

I have funded the site myself since 2001. But a subscription at just £1.25 a month from members will ensure I can keep paying the bills. It is not a lot to ask, it is less than the cost of a lottery ticket (in old money, it is far less than a drink or packet of cigarettes).

We don't force members to pay, it is optional. But I cannot afford to keep funding the site myself, it isn't a sustainable model and I really don't want to go down the road of masses of banner ads or pop ups. The other option is to shut the site, but going by the masses of support I had with emails pleading me to put the site back up, I introduced a subscription and so far, most users are happy with this.

The rank images shows those kind members who have subscribed and who appreciate the work I have put into the site. [Like.png]

Fair enough, sir, I stand corrected. You do a fine job, it’s an excellent site! I’ll subscribe in the next few days. [Like.png]

Hi Skoolkeeper,

I wouldn't worry about your unsecured WiFi, you never have anything of interest to say anyway. Also, this site has lots of money under the bed and there is no need for subs!!!

Went out on Sat....Pint and a half and a packet of scratchings....£9 !!!!! ....I dont mind buying you the equivalent of three pints.

So yeah, £15 a year is nothing really.

I paid my subs in the hope that it will get us mods a pay rise, I think we are overdue for another 10% of nothing rise. [Big grin.png]
