Your Schooldays School

Just out of curiosity , I wonder if anyone is either working at their school from when they were a kid.
Otherwise knows a member that works at their old school.
Nearest I can do is niece & nephew went to thecaretakers old school.

Re: Your Schooldays School

I worked at my old secondary school for 12 years. I was on a split site at Lower School. In my school days it was a single site school. So not sure if I can count it.

Re: Your Schooldays School

I work at a different school than which I attended, however some of the parents of pupils here were in the same class as me in secondary school.

My ex-girlfriends step-mother works in my school (didn't know this before I got the job). Never been an issue, I'd only met her once when I was with my ex, also the ex and her step-mother didn't get on at all, every time they met there was an argument.

Also, until recently, one of our cleaners who was employed in my school, used to work at my secondary school, when I attended, before it's closure, she was transferred to our school as a vacancy was open.

Re: Your Schooldays School

Let me think, my very first school is now a block of boutique offices, my second is a Vets, my third is still a school and I did go back once to present a donation on behalf of the local Gardener's group to enable the school to update and enhance their school garden, and the final school I attended is now a sheltered housing complex (so I might end up there in due course) and now 2 small estates of hi-end houses.

Re: Your Schooldays School

1st school is now a set of housing blocks.
2nd school is now a Fire Station
3rd school knocked down and new Communication building put up.
4th school still there
5th school still there

My kids went to the school I was Caretaker of and 2 previous CT's kids went there too.
And one pupil is a TA, soon to be a teacher there.
Another was a Gov and now works in the office.

I left high school in 1984, in 2007 i went back for e few weeks as cover for the site manager.

My PE teacher and RE teacher were STILL there.

Re: Your Schooldays School

My infant school is still there but is now a special needs centre.
My primary school is still there pretty much exactly as I remembered it.
My secondary school is still there and doing very well for itself.

Must contact their caretakers one day and go for a visit...

My daughter went to the school I'm working at, she's nearly 20 now and actually there are at least 12 teachers still here who taught her.
Including the teacher who ignited her spark for history.
She's currently 2nd year at Royal Holloway University of London. studying.... Yep, History. -Big grin.png-
