Another icon has passed away. Nobby Stiles has died at the age of 78.

Those iconic images of Nobby skipping round on the lap of honour with the trophy on his head & his socks rolled down, will live on as fresh as ever.

Yes remember Nobby stiles dancing around on the day when England won the World Cup in 1966, 4-2 against Germany (west?) with West Ham Utd on tune with Hurst,Peters and the captain of England Bobby Moore. Up the Hammers. RIP Nobby.

Just saw on a newsfeed that Sir Bobby Charlton also of the Victorious 66 World Cup Team has been diagnosed with dementia.

I don’t currently follow football but as a teenager back in 1966 my classmates along with myself followed the World Cup excitedly
This getting old lark is not all its cracked up to be is it
