Sir Clive Sinclair has passed away

My first electronic calculator was a Sinclair, my first "computer" a ZX81 then a Spectrum 48. I spent many evenings after work inputting data from magazines, saving to tape reloading and continuing with the input sometimes losing it all with a loading error.
Not one of the programs ever worked btw… -Cry.png-

How we have moved on from floppy discs to 3.5 rigid floppy disks then hard drives and now solid-state drives, plus memory capacities going from 4k to many megabytes.
R.I.P Sir Clive, you gave me many nights of enjoyment focus and occasionally a little frustration -Big grin.png-

Re: Sir Clive Sinclair has passed away

RIP Sir Clive.

He was one of a kind, often ahead of his time. We all owe him a great deal of gratitude. The world would not be the same without his courage to believe in himself and his inventiveness which he shared with us all. Sometimes, the world wasn't ready for his inventions. Take the electric bike, too many years ahead of it's time yet now, every other bike sold has a battery and motor strapped to it, RIP Sir Clive. -Wink.png- .

That takes me back, those were the days indeed -Big grin.png-
I’ve slightly modified your program, might not run though?

10 CLS
20 A$ = INKEY$
30 PRINT "Hello"
40 FOR I = 1 TO 1000
50 NEXT
60 GOTO 10

I remember the black normal calculator and the white scientific one. I had the white one with IIRC a huge bulge on the back for a 9v battery.

Better calculators came along soon after...
