There you are. I have been much luckier. Right out of the blue, I got an email today from a lady in Somalia whose husband had recently died. Apparently, she is also on the way out & has no children. She has 1.5 million USD that she can deposit in my bank account in order that I can carry out charitable works with it. I can keep some for myself. I should be set up for life. Back off. I saw her first.

Funny that. I know a Solar Panel Scheme that takes deposits off people, allocates them an installer via a non-transparent method and then you never hear from them again. And my local authority supports them. [--- (The seasonal word only permitted in December) ---_snowball.gif]

Re: Scammers
Been having these for years, they must be the oldest scams in the world still trying it on, pathetic that they think in this modern day and age people are going to fall for it, mainly from the African continent and the USA one's nearly the same format. I had a call the other day saying my wifi was going funny and they needed my password to reset it, Indian guy so it sounded like it was genuine to begin with as usually, certainly with EE that is what happens. Cut him off straight away

Re: Scammers
I got rid of my landline because of this and cold sales calls, plus intermittent line faults and inconsistent broadband problems. The line company also wanted to charge me £400+vat to run a new cable with a 4 week wait…

Re: Scammers
My landline is with TalkTalk, I have never had any issues with them at all, and I get absolutely no calls at all except from family and the few companies that have a legitimate reason for calling, to confirm appointments and so such, but they can`t be bothered to go through all the rigmarole to contact me for sales and all that bumph.

My grandparents get a threatening call from "BT" at least several times a week warning them that if they don't settle their bill they will cut their Internet off. My grandma always tells them "do it then" and hangs up. They have never had any way to connect to the Internet installed...

Re: Scammers
I'm ex-directory and thankfully get very few scammer calls. Some of these toe rang have machines that just pick random numbers.
