Just a question- as supermarkets etc can have a battery recycling bin- can we have one in a school?

Yes you can I have one at my school. Not sure where it’s from as our eco lead deals with that.

we use a company called valpak for battery recycling. they provide a special bin to collect them.
i'm going to need a bigger bucket! -JawDropped.png-

Batteries are one of the 'funded' recycling schemes. This means the government taxes / charges / levies a fee on the volumes of batteries sold by manufacturers into the UK market. This funding is then used to set up recycling schemes and encourage collections. We use the ERP scheme which provides free collection boxes and bags etc and pays for the shipping back to their processing centre. A big box of batteries is very heavy!
They also provide downloads of posters, ideas, risk assessments and FAQ's etc Very helpful. ERP
