NI payments on pensions

The latest thing now is an NI payment to be made payable by retired pensioners that have an income of over 8,000 a year, so that will wipe out this years `increase in one fell swoop for a lot of us.

Found this, it is WORKING Pensioners

"Pensioners still working after State Pension age, currently 66, don't pay National Insurance. However, after April 2023 they will have to pay the new Health and Social Care Levy out of their earnings"

Thanks Inspector. I didn't know that. Lucky I'm not working. Bad enough having to pay income tax on my Local Authority Pension let alone NI.

And when you receive your state pension, they add it to your LA pension as income so you pay tax on both… [Disappointment.png]

And let me guess, I bet I still have to pay tax on my funeral costs and pay 20% VAT on my coffin. They'll still get you when you've passed on. [Big grin.png]

P.S. And then there will be death duty, inheritance tax, solicitors fees. [fever.png]

And I hope I don't get the rug pulled from under my feet by the government altering the pension age. I'm not far off getting it now.
