Re: Saying Hi

Nice to have you on board and yes, they do change once they become academies as it is not run as a friendly school but a business. [Disappointment.png]

Re: Saying Hi

Welcome to the site.

EBJ got this exactly right, once an Academy trust takes over it becomes a business not a school anymore and usually the support staff are the ones to suffer with worse conditions, less money and lots of stress eventually, and any feeling that you are valued or part of a team disappears, at least that was my experience [Angry.png]

Re: Saying Hi

I agree that it is definitely the case that multi academy trusts become more business like. When it comes to personnel issues and policies the influential people at the top are representatives from business etc that are not familiar with the school staff. It makes it easier to make harsher decisions IMO.

Re: Saying Hi

welcome,

change is unfortunately inevitable.
We had moved away from a lot of the LA schemes before we academised, so we already had systems in place. Then as we became part of a MAT the changes we had to make were minimal.
Not all MATs are equal, some are better managed than others.

Our switch to a MAT has been relatively painless, and for me quite beneficial.
Women will never be equal to men until they can walk down the road with a bald head and beer gut, and still think they look good.
