Got my NEBOSH General assessment next week. Told the tutor I'm not really worried, but I'm not so sure I've convinced myself of that
How did others find it? Being an open book assessment and having 24 hours to do it, NG1 can't be that hard? Think I'm actually more worried about NG2.
I'm very glad the bulk of the course is over though, as sitting still for 2 weeks has been hard work...and biting my tongue with some of the other participants even harder!

NEBOSH is reasonably easy as long as you have a degree of common sense. The difficult one is IOSH.
I wish you every success m8. You'll walk it.

The best thing i did was to look up past questions and answers because a lot of the questions repeat every few years. I remember looking one up on the way for my first exam and it was one of the questions on the paper i had to take so Google old questions and you never know

I think you may have those mixed up old bean. I think I'd probably have rather taken the IOSH Managing Safely, but NEBOSH will look better on my CV.
Thanks though

I found NG1 harder than NG2 and I have subsequently done Fire as well. The hardest part I found was getting the information down on paper in the allotted time whilst making it readable as my handwriting is terrible especially as speed. If we could type I would have written so much more in the time allowed. Just ensure you read the question and understand what is being asked of you, NEBOSH have identify, list, explain etc in the question and that really does make a difference in how you should answer and what will be marked, for instance if it talks about the hierarchy of controls and asks lists, literally just list the 5 steps and that’s your points in the bag, don’t write essay as it will be a waste of your time,
Yes iosh managing safely is a good thing to have but NEBOSH general is a longer and harder assessment,
Good luck
RED ALERT.............
.....but Sir, that does mean changing the light bulb!

Hello,
Where do you all do your NEBOSH training?
Have your schools funded?
I am interested in taking the course but not sure how to approach the subject due to the cost.
Thanks.

Silly me, yes you are right, NEBOSH is the difficult one. Sorry, it's an age thing. I've done both.

I did mine as a weekly nightclass (3 hours per night over 9 months including the exams) at Northumbria university and the school paid for it, £1000 at the time on the proviso that i signed a form to say that i wouldn't leave my employment at the school for 3 years after the course had finished

I passed my national general certificate with a credit, only two marks from a distinction. The 24 hours to complete the exam is ample. I read the scenario and marked positive and negative parts and went from there. Mare sure punctuation is on point and uniform, also list all the law, regulations, legislations and ACOPS which you've used for reference.

i was worried about my NEBOSH - until the written exam part. i finished it in half the allotted time i thought i'd missed something as the others were still writing, so checked, double checked then left early. i then passed with credit (only just short of a distinction) so you'll probably find you know a lot more than you think you do.
Knights of Skirbeck Medieval re-enactment, not so much a hobby as a way of life!
I'm so old fashioned, outside work I'm either in the 15th or 19th centuries! (Medieval or steampunk, which is best?)
