Is being a human bad for the environment

Just a (very) silly thought went through my head... Is being a human bad for the environment?

If in the lifetime of one human being (say over 80 years) we collected all the discarded bodily functions such as ear wax, bogies, nail clippings, hair trimmings, poo, urine, puss, blood and any other bodily excretions you care not to mention... I wonder how much weight and space it would take up. I wonder if one of those university science departments have ever worked it out, they do some very strange surveys.

Apparently, there is currently 8.1 Billion People living on this planet. Maybe we should all be forced to recycle some of it. Wasn't it on Father Ted they used to make candles out of the wax from Father Jack Hackett's ears? [JawDropped.png]

Interesting thought.
I know Mythbusters did an episode where they made a candle from ear wax. It turned out smelly and not good.
As for the main waste,
Humans average 14 to 17 ounces of fecal matter a day and urine is average 2.1 ounces a day.

All bodily excretions are easily recyclable.
Just bury it in the ground..

Ashes to ashes dust to dust. as the saying goes.

Short answer. Yes. Humans were ok up to a few thousand years ago. Once we became civilised we started plundering our environment. It’s only got worse since.

Never heard of that film. I've just downloaded Soylant Green and watched about half of it. It's very grim viewing. Based on the future, thank god 2022 isn't anything like they predicted. But we are heading in that direction [Forgive.png]
