I've been a big advocate of no appraisal for a while.....certainly for some.
For me, I don't need targets setting to do my job.
The 'appraisal' for me and my team (and I think for a lot of support staff) should be more of a job chat. A formalised point to stop and have a check in. What do you want to start, stop, carry on? I'm very clear with my team that it's a chance to discuss things out in the open but there's no guarantee anything will change - at least they know I know now.

Never a bad idea to ask about the possibility of being sent on courses to improve your skill levels.Bevingtonc wrote: ↑1st Nov 2023 at 11:28am Hi All
I've got my review coming up, which is fine, I'm always happy and confident there will be no issues, I'm asked this year to have a think about 3 targets that I can focus on, I'm absolutely rubbish at coming up with targets, do any of you have any suggestions?
Cheers
