Holiday entitlement

Hello

Just a quick question 2 years ago we were given an extra day holiday in the pay deal - is this every year or was it just for that year.

Re: Holiday entitlement

Is that the one where we were "given" the extra day for the Queens celebrations? If not my allowance went up by a day about 2 years ago and has stayed there since....

I believe it was the one day as no mention was made in this years pay award.

And to make things worse, today ( February 29th) we are working for free. [Loud.png]

Re: Holiday entitlement

I was under the assumption that it was for every year.
it also includes a 4% increase to allowances, backdated to 1 April 2022, with a one day increase to the annual leave of all employees coming into effect on 1 April 2023 and the removal of the bottom pay-point on the same date./quote]

Wouldn't be the first time I was wrong though [Big grin.png]

Re: Holiday entitlement

It is for every year. I have just got my full holiday allowance for the first time (5 years service) and when I started I was expecting 28 days once I reached full entitlement. It is now actually 29 days.

Re: Holiday entitlement

Is your school under the control of the council or trust ? I've been told that the extra day's holiday only affects those working within a council led school and those working under the academy trust do not get the extra day's holiday.

Re: Holiday entitlement

It is every year. Our employer, the ERYC have just increased holiday entitlement, (33 days!). The extra day is listed in the column showing previous entitlement, which was for 27 days plus statutory and bank holidays.

Re: Holiday entitlement

Fusebox my school is under the council

Hawkiwind i read that too which is why i'm confused as i have just received my holiday form and its not on there, last year i had to prove to them that i was aloud it. so not sure if they have forgotten or we are not aloud it.I took it as every year because it doesn't say just for that year.

Iv been done out of holidays before as i reached 20 year + 2 years before I found out i was due an extra day. Also the council give you a reward for 20 years and i found out from one of the council workers - they now have stopped that due to cuts.
