Re: World Book Day

Just seen a young girl with her mum to the school gate. She had come as Hermione Granger with her crimped hair and Hogwarts outfit. Her mum said that her daughter had been awake since 3am and doesn't get this excited for that celebration in December. I know it can cost the parents but this kind of reaction makes it worthwhile.

Re: World Book Day

I get the children here to call me by my first name (Henry), so for world book day each year I dress up as Horrid Henry and it sends the children crackers with excitement [Success.png]

Re: World Book Day

Tomorrow for us.
All staff are following the 101 dalmatians theme and there will be a flashmob dance at some point to "who let the dogs out" (it's a thing)
The kids love world book day here it would be such a shame for them to not have that Mastergunner.
i'm going to need a bigger bucket! [JawDropped.png]

Re: World Book Day

Our school looks a little like Hogwarts with about a hundred characters from Harry Potter, a fair few Liverpool/Man Utd footballers, a number of cats and a couple of Mary Poppins to name a few. I normally dress up, but due to recent events at home,WBD wasn’t really high up the priority list. A quick improvised costume this morning (an address label stuck to my shirt), lo and behold, I’m Mr Grumpy!!

Re: World Book Day

As an avid reader I love world book day, anything that gets the kids into reading is good for me. This year I've come as a Ghostbuster complete with homemade backpack and blaster that fires silly string. [Happy.png] [Happy.png]
