Allocation of cleaning hours

Good morning all.

I would like to ask how you allocate/count cleaning hours based on the floor plan
Is there some sort of a matrix to do it.
What would be the best and quickest way to tackle it.

Greatly appreciate your help guys

Thanks and have a good weekend

Re: Allocation of cleaning hours

I'm sure there is a more in-depth way of working it out, but as a rough guide in areas that have an even mix of toilets, classrooms corridors etc it works out at about 180 square meters per hour here.

Re: Allocation of cleaning hours

When i first started in the 80s it was based on so many square feet per hour with more time given for areas like toilets, but eventually that changed to what the school could afford regardless of whether standards slipped so sorry that i can't help you out but it will probably all depend on what your school reckons is value for money

Re: Allocation of cleaning hours

Wouldn't it be the best option to access the area needed covering by doing it yourself at a reasonable rate. Every area is different so some would take longer than others. We currently have contract cleaners who are allocated so many hours each and are expected to pick up other areas once their patch is finished. But prior to that when the cleaning was in house every cleaner was on the same time irrelevant of area and I expected the same, to fill their time with other duties. I then rotated them termly so that nobody at the end off a school year could say they did more than others.
You were only meant to dust the flipping floors off
