Had something similar here during one holiday period. I opened the staffroom door and the place looked like one of them 18:30 holiday foam parties from Ibiza (other destinations are available), I was almost knee deep in bubbles.
I remember the art teacher putting paint mixer trays in the staff room dishwasher after school one evening. She must have used general purpose detergent as when I checked the staff room just before locking up, I met with bubble city. Not knee deep but definitely ankle deep.
Took me an hour to get rid of the suds using fabric conditioner a mop and bucket. When I opened the dishwasher, it was a mass of suds, so I left it for the art teacher to deal with the next day.
However, the following morning I got the ‘dishwasher is broken again but the staff room smells nice call’…
