How to make your first forum post (or post a job)

You have registered for our forum and would like to make your first forum post (or post a job Vacancy for the first time).

Firstly, you need to be logged-in to make a post on the forum.

From the main index page, we suggest you make your first post in the Reception Class forum
(If you are posting a job, then pick the Job Vacancies forum)

Click on the Reception Class link to be taken to the list of topics in the Reception Class forum. (If you are posting a job, then pick the Job Vacancies forum)

At the top of the list you will see a button marked New Topic

This will open the text area where you can type in your first forum post.

Type in your message and use the buttons at the bottom of the text box to preview (see what your post will look like) or post your message to the forum. Your message will them appear at the top of the list of messages in that forum in newest date order.

You can use the buttons at the top to make your text bold, add quotes and change the way your post looks. This is a little more advanced and you can follow Dragonrider's guide to see what options are available.

PLEASE NOTE: You need to use a modern browser that supports html5 to watch the video. It does not work in Internet Explorer.



To make future new posts, select the most suitable forum from the list of forums on the Index page and the process is the same. Enjoy using the forum and we hope you find it useful. [Hug.png]

To add an attachment (upload a photo or documents) click on the attachments tab at the bottom of the post page.

1.PNG Then click on the Add File button. Find the file on your computer that you want to upload and double click on it or highlight it and click OK.

2.PNG The file will upload and be added to a list of files at the bottom of the page. If you wish your picture or document to be put in a specific place in your post, put the cursor where you want the attachment to be placed in the text area and click on the Place Inline button. The forum will add a your attachment where you put it

3.PNG Press Preview to check that everything is as you want and Submit to post the page. It should then look like this post.

Look at DR's video to see how to upload documents or images and place them inline (add an attachment). "How to add an attachment (Video)" posted in "Forum Help and Guidance"
