OK another nightmare problem, well not a nightmare I'm just fed of of keeping cleaning up the mess of these things
all our downstairs is a suspended ceiling, I must be replacing at least 2 or 3 a day. over the year that mounts up to a lot of tiles.
Does anyone know of a more sturdy tile that can't be broken, as you know these tiles break and crumble as soon as you touch them. I've had pens rulers and other objects sticking out of them . ( I call it modern art ), You've got to laugh )
Cheers

You can get Plasterboard tiles. They are by far the sterdiest.

It adds quite a lot of weight to your ceiling tho. Check the anchors to make sure that they can take the extra weight.

We had some accoustic tiles . They had to be cut in half & would then be the same as the normal tiles so we're twice the length of normal tiles . They are made of a compressed fibre with a white covering . If I remember will try to get info off of them .
Take my drum to England, hang it by the shore,And strike it when your powder's running low;If the Dons sight Devon, I'll quit the port of heaven,& drum them up the channel as we drummed them long ago

You need to be careful as the tiles you have in at the moment are installed as per the strain on the suspended ceiling structure, adding extra weight may not be the right thing to do, the tiles are made as they are so if they do fall they are less likely to injure some one when they fall on them as they break up into pieces a bit like a modern car windscreen when it is smashed.

Contact a suspended ceiling company and ask for advice from them as to if there is a solution to this without renewing the whole ceiling structure. [Like.png]

yes EBJ I did think about the extra weight, and I'm still thinking ( I don't get paid to think,it hurts too much )

I will look into the accoustic tiles. see what weight difference is.
