Ever on the quest for an easy means of unblocking urinals, I decided to do a quick bit of searching today.

Came across this:
https://www.chemassist.co.uk/uric-xtrem ... -unblocker

Sounds like it could be good - has anyone used it?
Not too keen on having to commit to £150 though!

I thought I would (try to) be clever and have a check out of the MSDS sheet to see what the active ingredient is:

Phosphoric acid!

Aha! I wonder if that can be had cheaper?

I've also got a recollection that Coca-Cola has phosphoric acid in it - I wonder if pouring some of that down a urinal will help unblock them?

Hmmm... Does it do anything that One Shot cannot do a whole lot cheaper?

I've not found One Shot to work in the bad blockages. If I remember correctly, it's sulphuric acid based so might work in a different way?

It's a long quest to conquer this challenge!

I like the idea of the Chemassist, but really , a minimum order of 20ltrs!! [Shock.png]

I'll have to have a word with the other schools in the MAT and see if anyone else wants any and split the cost.

If 'One Shot' does not work, you know it's a bad blockage!

A lot of stuff like this is becoming very hard to get hold of due to acid attacks by people intent on causing serious harm to others. A bit of a shame for people who might need it for genuine purposes like ourselves.

I have bought Chemassist and find it to be worth every penny. I had a couple of urinals that were in a terrible state and had tried everything including changing all of the pipework we could get at.
This worked a treat and with a dollop every end of term have been trouble free for 2 years now.

Thanks John!

A positive review is worth a lot. I'll give some a go when I can next afford some. Urinals really are my big frustration!
