We belong to the local B&Q who send us unwanted stock occasionally. We've had paint, flowers, plants, wood and two --- (The word only allowed in December) --- trees (every year). They do a community fund thingy here.

Be careful with freebies or more precise... 'Samples'!

I got a call to give me light tube samples.
An invoice soon followed.
I had to delivery them back myself, this was a few years back.

Trouble is they know not to directly call the CT but approach office staff and scam us that way. Here, everything goes through the BM now about trials etc.

Yeah definitely agree with that one, but I always go by as well if you don't ask you don't get so I have had quite a few free jobs done just by asking and having a friendly chat, I have just sorted out a brand new kitchen for the staff room for free its a showroom one but still new, the staff are going to get a big surprise when I fit it on a weekend in a couple of weeks

I have managed to get a couple of grants but the amount of paperwork that has to be done takes a lot of time and research.
