Harrietsham C of E Primary School is looking to appoint a part-time caretaker to join our friendly, professional team.

We wish to appoint someone who is enthusiastic, reliable, active and has excellent communication skills.

We require self-motivated candidates who will work as part of a team with the other caretaker and contract cleaners to maintain a safe and welcoming environment for the pupils and staff. The successful candidate will report to the Headteacher and will be responsible for the security and cleanliness of the site and will be very conscientious with a good knowledge of health and safety.

The work will involve all aspects of caretaking, cleaning and facilities management. The position is physical in nature and includes working outside. You should therefore, be comfortable lifting furniture and equipment to statutory limits.

Flexibility is required to meet the needs of the School, for example, alarm call outs, severe weather conditions clearing the school site, staff illness, lettings and School events.

The position is permanent working term time only (equating to 38 weeks per annum). Normal working will be 15 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 3-15pm-6-15pm.

In addition to the hours stated, you might be required to work some evenings / weekends as agreed, for which payment will be made.

Salary: KR3, £15,628 to £17,188 pro-rata.

The school is fully committed to the safeguarding of children, therefore all staff are subject to an enhanced DBS check by the Disclosure and Barring Service along with other relevant employment checks.

Visits are encouraged by prior arrangement.

Information about the school

We pride ourselves on the achievements of all our pupils. We are a school that puts children at the heart of everything we do. In September 2018 we started to embark on an exciting journey of expanding the school to a two form entry. We are well resourced and offer a friendly, welcoming school which maintains close links with the church and where everyone works together for the benefit of all pupils. We have supportive parents and an active PTFA. To find out more visit our school website.
