About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a caretaker to be welcomed into our enthusiastic and motivated staff team.

The role is from 7am until 9am.

There will be the opportunity of additional hours during the holidays, and when specific tasks need undertaking.

We are looking for someone who is keen to take a passionate role in the site management and maintenance of our school, and to become a valued member of the school community.

This could suit a range of people and levels of experience, from someone starting out in their career, to a retired member of the local community, who is keen to continue a trade and be part of our team.

Ringmer Primary & Nursery School is situated in a peaceful, rural setting.

The building was beautifully extended and refurbished in 2016. We offer an inspirational learning environment from Nursery through to Year 6.

Staff are friendly and welcoming, and children are well-behaved. We offer a supportive and positive working environment to all our staff.

We are looking to appoint a committed, reliable, adaptable person who is friendly and can work well with staff and children, and who has good DIY skills enabling them to carry out a range of small repairs and who will share our pride in our school and it's appearance.

Duties will include all aspects of general maintenance, security, health and safety of the school and related paperwork.

We are seeking someone able to work on their own initiative and as part of a team to maintain a clean and safe site. The role is varied, covering all aspects of caretaking from regular inspections and paperwork to maintenance and cleaning tasks. An understanding of the main Health & Safety Regulations including COSHH along with experience of carrying out building maintenance work would be an advantage.
