Re: Door handle height ?

we have 2 doors in pre school and reception yrs with high handles. As long as there are fire escapes and other means of access there is not an issue. like yourself they were done as a means to prevent the little ones from being able to just open the door and wonder off around school. the issue i have is that staff really pull hard on them and have broken then so many times i am thinking of having them taken out And having mag locks put on.

Re: Door handle height ?

We used to have dual handles, but that wasn't enough to keep the kids in so now we have a single lower handle and a thumblock high up on 9 of our classrooms. Our pupil/staff ratio is extremely high being an SEN school (approx. 2 pupils to 1 staff) in those classrooms so it's not an issue.
