Plans for a county's first net-zero carbon school have been approved by councillors. Hertfordshire County Council granted planning permission for a 300-pupil primary school and nursery in Buntingford.

The school will have triple-glazed windows and solar panels to power electric vehicle charging points. All classrooms to face north to avoid overheating.

North facing windows so rooms don`t overheat, what a novel idea, perhaps someone should have told an architect that before designing an office with floor to ceiling windows facing South, oh hang on isn`t that what architects are paid for! -Shock.png-

Sounds quite good though, I'm guessing this is going to be a local authority school? Wonder when they will advertise for jobs.
