Valencia MotoGP: Valentino Rossi set for final race of his career

MEYM__A920218.jpg

The GOAT finally retires, 42 years old, 125 cc WC, 250cc WC, 500cc - motogp 7 times world champion.
You can never truly say who`s the best unless they race on the same bike at the same time but the most loved -Thumb_up-
Off the track a gent, on it not so much -Big grin.png- especially when Marquez gets too near -Big grin.png-

Was blessed to see Rossi in his final British MotoGP at Silverstone in August and my son and I had seats in the Rossi stand on Copse corner. The atmosphere in that stand was just amazing and it was just a shame that he is no longer riding a bike that can compete at the front. He will be sorely missed in the world of MotoGP.

Fantastic ambassador for the sport and best wishes to him.

It is people like him that small children should aspire to with the right mix of serious racing, helping others and most of all showing that racing can be fun.

TT and Moto GP are very different disciplines so i could understand if one looks at the other and thinks they are mad.
Plus....

How many GP riders don't do the TT because their contract, teams or insurance won't allow it?

Barry Sheene wasn`t a coward by any stretch of the imagination but he only did the TT once, basically he didn`t want to die racing a bike (came near a couple of times!) people like guy Martin accept that when they went to the TT they might not come back, it`s a different mindset.
Michael Dunlop has lost his father, uncle and brother to road racing but he still does it, by normal standards that`s madness but it`s his life, he did say that he`s looked into his grandmothers eyes and seen the pain, he was welling up and he`s the toughest sob on the planet!

I haven't watched the racing for years but my all time hero was Mike Hailwood,
this is an interesting article.
