Does anybody have any good news to share?

What with 3 years of the Pandemic, The Queen popping her clogs, Liz Truss destroying the UK economy in the first week of her premiership, they are now saying we might have power cuts and gas rationing this winter. To top it all, we probably won't be able to have Turkey on the seasonal table due to bird flu. Is there anything to look forward too?

Somebody give me a little good news please! [Angry.png]

It’s been one year since I got my redundancy. [Angry.png]

However, I’ve managed to turn it all around. And all is good. [Happy.png]

I took the stabilisers off my 4 year olds bike yesterday and he was off like a rocket ! Really something to be said about learning on a balance bike first [Like.png]

I can weld in my workshop without tripping the breaker, which is good news. And run the compressor too!
But I couldn't weld back together my broken scarifier rake ...which is rubbish news. I will try again at the weekend, I'm not buying another one at £35 a pop.

So true about the balance bike Sparky. When my son was learning, there wasn't really any about. I spent hours holding on to the back of his bike saddle whilst he got to grips with balancing. However, my daughter, three years later had one and when she progressed to a pedal bike, she didn't even need stabilizers. She was away [Success.png]

I would go so far as to say that stabilisers should never be used as they teach kids the exact opposite of how to balance.
Obviously SEN kids are different but I would suggest that a trike would be more effective.

I agree, when my son was really young we bought him a scooter, this sorted the balance issue out and he soon progressed to a pedal bike no stabilisers required.

Yeah, never used stabilisers with my kids. Both ride fine.
