Winter jabs

Just had my flu jab and my winter Pfizer COVID booster jab.

I've got a painful jaw now, it's kept me up most of the night. Hurts to bite and I can't seem to close my mouth in the right position. I hope this gets better quickly, I had a painful arm after my third jab which took 3 months before it got better.

Re: Winter jabs

I had my Covid 3 weeks ago(moderna) then the flu jab 2 weeks ago. I did have sore muscles around the back of my neck after the Covid one but as i go to the gym i couldn't say it was down to the jab or overexertion, only lasted about a day anyway.

Re: Winter jabs

I got my flu jab at the local Pharmacist, NOT the local health centre. I did ask the lass if Lloyds were likely to offer the Covid booster, but apparently not as not all Pharmacists are trained to draw the right amount of vaccine from a multi-dose vial, like Covid Jabs. But I should call at the Health Centre to check when they would be offering them.

Bearing in mind that I've had texts, emails and even a letter from the NHS advising me that as I am classed at risk from complications of catching Covid I should book my jab asap. Fine, I thought, I'll try to book it online.

Nearest jab? A 50 mile round trip! Local Health Centre, where patients are not particularly welcomed it seems, any consults done by phone, and at least one doctor won't listen to anything you say. So when will you be offering Covid Jabs, please? Oh, we don't know, we've not ordered any yet.

So it sounds like they want people to get their jabs out of the area so they don't have to buy in too many. Great if you have family or transport, not so good for those of us who have neither.

Re: Winter jabs

I had both the flu and covid booster a few weeks back, felt a bit achy for a few days but was soon back to normal [Thumb_up.png]

Re: Winter jabs

Booster no 3 the nurse may as well have shouted “Shakka Zulu.” Boy I felt that one.

Booster 4 & flu jab no dramas. But felt a bit rough the next day. So took the afternoon off. I love flexi time. 😁

Re: Winter jabs

Covid booster a couple of weeks back (pfizer) nothing but a sore arm for a couple of days.

Flu Jab will be done in a week or so at school along with the kids flu Vacc.

I opted not to have the 2 together as if there were issues, I would like to know which one caused it.
Plus giving my immune system two thing to fight at once seems wrong to me. [Neutral.png]

Re: Winter jabs

It really does depend on the `Nurse` giving those jabs, some are fantastic and you don't feel a thing, one of my boosters felt ok going in, but she had done it too far up, took three months for the pain to go.

Re: Winter jabs

Had my Flu 2 weeks ago and Covid 2 days ago.
I have had a flu like reaction to my booster last year, it only lasted 24hrs.
Thought it was best to separate the vaccines just in case.

Young pharmacist administered my covid vaccine last year,
he said "sit down, roll up your sleeve and I'll give you an erection" [JawDropped.png]
