Amazon has just sent me an email to say they are ending Amazon Smile in February 2023 as it is only a small part of their business. They only issued 101 million pounds to charities last year. which they say is a very small percentage.
Truth is, they are not making the money they used to due to the recession, so have upped Prime membership fees to £100 a year, laid staff off and now not giving to charity anymore

Interesting Amazon's can't afford 101 million pounds, they apparently sank 1 billion dollars into their recent Lord of The Rings TV series, over $250 million just for the rights to the material. I haven't seen it but the ratings don't exactly make it sound like it was worth the money.
