Toilet unblocking tips and reccomendations

so we have a toilet which has im guessing is clogged.

You flush it and the water in the bowl rises and does not disperse as quickly as it once did. Ive tried plunging but it doesnt seem to have shifted,

anyone used a chemical down a toilet that has shifted persistent blockages?
anyone used/got a bit of kit (aside from a plunger) they reccomend to shift blockages?
Opinions are like Derry-airs, everyone has one, but some stink and are full of the brown stuff [Success.png]

Check your inspection covers bro. the junction where the tube from the toilets to where it connects to the main drain could be clogged.

I guarantee this will work, I've had some major issue's in the past and has worked every time,

take a mop one you won't be using again of course for floors at least lol, and twist it down right into the bowl and give it some hard plunges, it may work in the first minute or it may take 10 mins but eventually it will flush it

A mop is good bro. but I always used a drain rod and plunger to force the water down.
Learned that trick from my drain boys and has never failed. Just a quick push down and most times job done.

Re: Toilet unblocking tips and reccomendations

like trout, rods with a plunger head always does the job.

Sometimes, if there is a "bank" of toilets, i block the others with an old mop head. (always keep a few for this)
Ocaisonally wi have plunged two on a line at the same time too.

Chemicals to unblock a toilet is rarely the answer.

mop method works, but to keep it clean put it inside a black bag- afterwards, turn the bag inside out and dispose of- that way the mop is reusable.

Re: Toilet unblocking tips and reccomendations

I had one a few years back that just wouldn't go down quickly, and would always fill up with poop. Tried everything, plunging, snaking, checking manholes (I've never been one to use chemicals for blockages). Ended up taking the loo out in the holidays and discovering a whole apple in the u bend. Still looked pretty fresh, considering!
Before you go hammering it down with a mop, glove up and check it's not a whole toilet roll or something even larger. Pushing something like that further down will just cause more of a headache.

An ordinary plunger or quite a lot of times i used the toilet brush as a plunger and that nearly always worked
