Re: Paint disposal?

You could try asking a decorator centre if they would take it (Dulux / Johnstons / Crown etc.) if its only a few tins

A company that I know of is https://redindustries.co.uk/ they will take it for a charge, not sure how much.

Try these guys.

Re3 are a community orientated group that re-use paint donated to them.
I've used them and they are great for disposal and for purchasing cheap paint in one off colour batches.

Or you could drop it off at your local recycle tip free of charge, in the back of your car, rather than the school minibus.

Our recycling centre has stopped taking tins with `wet` paint, the paint in the tins must be `dried` by leaving the tins open until it goes off, maybe with a little help of some added sand, then tins can be disposed of to landfill.

Re: Paint disposal?

If I need to get rid of any, I let them dry out, and/or mix them with some sand. Do it with enough time to dry out before I order a skip, and then put in there. They're happy to take them, as the first time I tried, left them near the top and asked the driver. He said it was fine.

Re: Paint disposal?

We used to have a yearly collection of chemicals etc and they would take stuff like that when we were with the council. There was a collection when we became an academy but it wasn't an annual thing

Slicker, national collection, will collect empty and part used/full paint tins even though website doesn't mention this service.
