Mucho thanks boss, that word is not in the Geordie English book that magpie gave me many moons ago.
Now it makes sense to me.
Again, well done magpie!
Now, GO O's!

People up here never say we are going to Newcastle, it is always we are gannin to the Toon, just ask Jaytrout39843 wrote: ↑5th Oct 2023 at 10:27am I get it now, it's a soccer (football) team.
But there does the name Toon come in? Wouldn't Newcastle or something like that identify better?

See if I can spot you in the crowds. Now I know why your username is Magpie. Didn't realise that, all these years I've known you

My local(ish) team of Brighton have been doing alright recently too. My son-in-law often goes to see them play. Me... well I confess, I've never been to a football match. But I do eat the handmade steak pies they sell at Brighton they are the best pies I've ever eaten https://www.pigletspantry.co.uk/bhafc
