I've been listening to these songs for years and am wondering if I hear them right.

Elton John; “hold me closer Tony Danza. Count the headlights in the high weeds. Lay me down on sheets of lentils. You had a business day today.”

Steve Winwood; “Bring me an iron lung. Oh oh.”

B.T.O; “and I been baking carrot biscuits, every day. Baking carrot biscuits any way, and working on a pie.”

C.C.R. ; “there’s a bathroom on the right.”

Just curious folks.

Over the years I’ve misheard many lyrics to songs?
I always wondered about the Jimi Hendrix lyrics to Purple Haze: Scuse me while I kiss the sky

I always thought it was,
"scuse me while I kiss this fly."

There was a song called Substitute by Clout popular in the late 70's.

My foster sister used to walk around singing "I'm a Prostitute"

We didn't tell her it was too funny.

Does anyone remember the larger tins of food often referred to as "family sized tins"
Same sister went into the shop and asked for a "Family sized tin of dog meat please"

Dead ringer for love:

"Ever since I can remember you've been hanging round with Joyce"

Once heard a co-worker say she thought for years that that was how the song went. Didn't believe it when she was first told that it was "hanging round this joint"

Funny how misheard lyrics stick sometimes.
