Just look at the condition of Sir Nigel Gresley as she stops for water. I don't think I've ever seen a loco shine so much.

Yes, they’ve definitely got out the Turtle Wax for that shine, as a schoolboy I always liked the shape of the Mallard class 4 locomotives.
I bought a Hornby 00 model of a Mallard for my son when he was still into Thomas the tank Engine, although I think it was green. I had a layout I kept in the school basement, nothing special just a board really with the track permanently affixed. I think my son gave the track and loco’s away when he got older

I am always disapointed when the Flying Scotsman blows the whistle, always sounds a bit like it's being choaked
