Re: I'm thinking of retiring....

I'm in the same boat with the eighty five year rule .
It covers a lot of my early stuff ...
I will get a more accurate pension estimate later in the year when this year's figures are added ...
It will be " star wars day " next year for me so another year's pay to add to the whole..
Some final salary and some care scheme.
Then there's the McCloud remedy... Maybe..lol.
It's all good fun .

Re: I'm thinking of retiring....

Some advice from who is there bro.
Maybe extend another year if you have to but the key thing is to get as many or all your bills paid off! I'm talkin' credit cards, store cards and such so you can be debt free when you do. The less you have to pay the better off you will be. Once you are on a fixed income is not the time to worry about it.
I did that the first time I retired (U.S Army 2002) and the number of my fellow soldiers who were going with me were worried about bills was astounding. I took my last few years to pay everything off so no worries.
Then when I retired from my school, I did it again (hey, I figured it worked the first time so why not now) and it worked.
After you reitre, keep a close eye on the spending and all will be alright.

Take it or leave it but that's my advice bro.
