Times Up!
Good morning Boys and Girls.
There comes a times in everyones life when when you ask "why do i bother?" Well now is my time. I have been running my present school now for 8 years and also for the last 3 years running my own business. More and more as the school draws closer to becoming an academy has more and more been thrown at me to do. i asked for more help...... guess what.. No.. i asked for some things to be taken from me... No.. then i am dumped with running all the H&S lock stock and barrel.. Enough... So Monday had a three minute meeting with the head.. Resignation is in time to call a cab. uncertain times ahead but becoming my own full time boss is to long in the coming i think. should have jumped ages ago. TIMES UP Ring that bell schools out!!

Re: Times Up!
Been there prior to going acadamy, spending more time on paper work ticking boxes and crossing the "T's" than doing the practical work, at the time i was well past my retirement age and loved the job when i first started as it was a small SEN school but boy did it change and after a confortation with the BM i handed in my resignation, and i know a lot of caretakers on here have done the same and said enough is enough.

Good luck, I'm sure things will work out. I know the "why do I bother" feeling, ever since the idea of academisation was brought up here things have changed. The school are actively trying to get rid of me and a bunch of other staff by increasing expectations and workload, meanwhile jobs they started advertising six months ago are not getting much or zero response. With the number of staff who are looking for jobs or have already handed in their notice there are interesting times coming. I am hoping to move on soon too.

I wish you all the best with it and remember that being a happy person doing what you want is better than the stressful life that you are feeling at the minute. I think that Academies will be struggling in the future to hire people to do the job, more work for poor wages equals lack of interest and i can see that being more prevalent on the horizon

Best thing I ever did was to tell the head to stick her job were the sun don't shine and get out. Love my new role in a non school environment. You can only take so much. And now they can't keep anyone due to the work load and attitude of the head.
