So more maybe added to the cost of living if the water companies get away with it.

I hope any increases do not increase the dividends to shareholders.

There should be an investigation on the returns that shareholders have received in comparison to other typical investments. It is not right that the companies can exploit their monopoly positions and charge an inflated price (at the customers' expense) to keep shareholders happy. If they have abused their position teh you have to question the effectiveness of OFWAT.

I find it incredible that the companies claim that the increases are required to tackle leakages. What have they been doing, since privatisatiion, to get to this situation? They have been ineffective custodians without doubt. Privatisation (like Vera stated) has failed.

It will be interesting to see CT's view of the rises given recent experiences.

Or the fat cat directors, especially given the blatant dumping of sewage in rivers from some water companies...
